University of Florida Conservation Clinic, Thomas T. Ankersen, Director, Krystle Macadangdang, LLM, Melissa Newmons, J.D., Student Associates

Thomas T. Ankersen is a legal skills professor at the University of Florida Levin College of Law and directs its Conservation Clinic. Krystle Macadangdang (LLM) and Melissa Newmons (J.D) are recent graduates of UF Law and served as student associates in the Clinic while working on this project. The University of Florida Conservation Clinic uses the service learning model to provide interdisciplinary services in law and policy to communities and organizations across a broad range of conservation issues,.

Jim Titus, Climate Change Division, U.S. EPA (via WebEx)

Jim Titus has been studying the effects of rising sea level and urging people to prepare for the consequences since 1982. He has a BA in economics from University of Maryland and a JD from Georgetown University Law Center. He also helped elevate the family cottage on the bay side of Brant Beach by two feet. His most recent publication creates sea level rise planning maps, and estimates that more than 60 percent of Atlantic coast lowlands are likely to be developed and protected from the rising sea under current policies
