Keep it Picture Perfect!

Clyde Butcher, noted photographer and environmentalist (in photo below), teamed up with Live Oak Production Group and the Charlotte Harbor National Estuary Program to produce Keep it Picture Perfect, a 30-second public service announcement (PSA) to discourage littering.

View the Quick Time version of the PSA by visiting Live Oak Production Group's website. Please note that not all web browsers support video. This file is large and so it will take several minutes to download. Once downloaded, right click on the image and select play. Enjoy!

Copies of the PSA to show using a VCR during meetings, conferences, etc., are available. Request a copy by sending an email message. Broadcast quality tapes are available to television and cable stations.

Question: What are the 12 items that make the "dirty dozen" list of items most frequently picked up during a cleanup in the United States?

Answer: If you guessed cigarette butts and food wrappers, you were right. According to the Center for Marine Conservation, those butts represent 25 percent of the trash picked up! The other 75 percent are from the meals we eat and beverages we drink then discard. This list includes food wrappers, beverage containers and lids, and straws! Let’s do our part to keep it picture perfect. Hold on to your debris until it can be disposed of in a trash can.
