| Harbor Happenings, CHNEP newsletter
Since the spring of 1997, the Charlotte Harbor National Estuary Program has published this newsletter, Harbor Happenings, as a free newsletter. The newsletter provides information about the “happenings” in the CHNEP study area that help implement the Comprehensive Conservation and Management Plan to protect the natural environment from Venice to Bonita Springs to Winter Haven.

Help spread the news of your “happenings”
Please consider submitting articles, ideas and graphics for future issues of Harbor Happenings. Submission deadlines are:
Most articles are less than 500 words and are written for the interested public. Longer articles are posted on the website and edited for length for the newsletter. Graphics are always appreciated. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the editor at mhilgendorf@swfrpc.org or 866/835-5785, ext. 240.
As of the spring 2009 issue, approximately 7,500 copies are mailed and more than 3,000 copies are distributed by centers and libraries and at events. The newsletters are also available as PDF files on this website with links to additional information, and are translated into Spanish and posted on the website.
Changes to the newsletter Each Fall CHNEP asks for quotes to print the next four issues of this newsletter. In 2009 the quotes to print and postage to mail the newsletter are the same whether the newsletter is 12 or 16 pages! We anticipate expanding the next four issues to 16 pages. We hope to dedicate the centerfold of each of these issues to a poster you can keep and enjoy and that will provide details about more events.
As of the Winter 2007 issue, with advances in printing technology, the Charlotte Harbor National Estuary Program began publishing Harbor Happenings in full color at a cost comparable to the two-color versions of the past. This change will make the newsletter easier to read and graphics easier to interpret.
As of the Winter 2006 issue, the newsletter became available in Spanish.
Harbor Happenings en Español Cada publicación de Harbor Happenings será traducida al español y publicada en el website del Charlotte Harbor National Estuary Program www.CHNEP.org. Por favor anime a sus amigos que hablan español a darle un vistazo.
