The Legislative Subcommittee was established by the Policy Committee at its May 28, 2003 meeting with members representing the Program's Policy, Management, Technical Advisory and Citizens Advisory Committees. The Legislative Subcommittee began meeting on September 29, 2003.

The Committee quickly drafted the Program's first Legislative Agenda, which was approved by the Management Conference in November 2003. There are several priority actions in the Program's Comprehensive Conservation and Management Plan that can only be implemented through the legislative process. This agenda provides a mechanism to implement those items.

The committee has identified several Internet sources of information that may be relevant to upcoming legislative sessions.
