Charlotte Harbor Nature Festival: A day to celebrate the natural environment of southwest Florida
Thank you to the many people who made past festivals so great. The festival held Saturday, November 22, 2008 was also a great success!
The tenth annual Charlotte Harbor Nature Festival will be held Saturday, November 21, 2009.
Prior festivals have been held November 22, 2008; November 3, 2007; October 7, 2006; February 4, 206, January 29, 2005, January 31, 2004, February 1, 2003, March 2, 2002; and March 31, 2001. Details of the prior festivals are included in two documents. These documents have not been updated since the festival on November 22, 2008.
Florida Friendly Landscaping/Plant Workshops
Because Hardee and Desoto Counties do not have staff dedicated to providing residents with "Florida-friendly" landscape information, since 2005 CHNEP has coordinated workshops in these counties.

National Estuaries Days: Join us for a hands-on experience of our local estuaries and watersheds! Special events, boat and paddling tours, guided walks, wading trips and cleanups are often offered in celebration of National Estuaries Days.
Several cities, counties and agencies have issued proclamations of support for these events.

Other Events
Sustainable Communities: November 3, 2009: The fourth annual conference hosted by Sarasota County focused on the energy-water nexus. Presentations are available on the website.
Managing Wet Weather with Green Infrastructure Workshop: July 1-2, 2009: Florida Gulf Coast University Student Union Ballroom. The workshop will be held on Wednesday from 8:30 to 4:30 and Thursday from 8:30 to 11:45. This is a free workshop. Lunch will not be provided.
