Dear Supporter of our Estuaries and Watersheds,
The Charlotte Harbor National Estuary Program (CHNEP) will hold its fourth Charlotte Harbor Watershed Summit on March 26-28 in Punta Gorda and celebrate the signing of our Comprehensive Conservation and Management Plan (CCMP) update on March 25, 2008.
The Summit is an opportunity to present and learn about the latest scientific findings affecting policy in the greater Charlotte Harbor watershed. The Watershed Summit is an important step in the NEP process of bringing public and private stakeholders together to discuss ongoing studies and critical environmental issues facing the region. CHNEP hosts a summit every three years.
The program CCMP was first completed and approved in 2001, marking the beginning of action to protect and restore the greater Charlotte Harbor watershed. The signing ceremony is a public commitment to the update of the 20-year plan to protect the natural environment from Venice to Bonita Springs to Winter Haven.
Please consider becoming a sponsor of the Charlotte Harbor Watershed Summit and CCMP signing ceremony.
While all amounts of support are appreciated, a business, agency or organization that provides $1,000 or more will be listed as a sponsor for both the Watershed Summit and Signing Ceremony. All entities that provide less than $1,000 will be listed as sponsors of specific activities, such as for refreshments breaks, exhibit area, etc. As a sponsor your name will be included in promotion and documents.
If you are interested in sponsoring the Watershed Summit, please contact Maran Hilgendorf in the Program Office at 239/338-2556 ext 240 or email mhilgendorf@swfrpc.org. To be listed in all of the promotional opportunities, your sponsorship contribution must be received by February 15, 2008.
The Charlotte Harbor National Estuary Program is a partnership of citizens, elected officials, resource managers, and commercial and recreational resource users working to improve the water quality and ecological integrity of the greater Charlotte Harbor watershed. The CHNEP’s partners use a cooperative decision-making process to address diverse resource management concerns in the 4,700 square-mile study that includes all or portions of Lee, Charlotte, Sarasota, Manatee, Polk, Hardee and DeSoto counties. Charlotte Harbor was recognized as an “estuary of national significance” and accepted into the National Estuary Program in 1995.
Thank you for your consideration of this sponsorship request.
